Walk to the Thames. Steps from the High Street. A quiet, character-filled escape in the heart of town.
Our Approach
If you’re looking for riverside walks along the Thames and a cosy, character-filled place to unwind, Forge House is the perfect escape.
We take great care to ensure every stay is comfortable and reassuring. Frequently touched surfaces — including light switches, handles, remotes, and worktops — are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before each arrival.
Wallingford is one of England’s most charming historic market towns, set on the banks of the River Thames and surrounded by rolling Oxfordshire countryside. Ideally located between Reading (12 miles), Henley-on-Thames (11 miles), and Oxford (13 miles), it makes an excellent base for exploring the region.
Beautifully renovated to a high standard, Forge House accommodates up to three guests (or two adults and two small children). Designed by Philippa, an interior designer with a hotel background, the home blends Art Deco elegance with subtle nods to Wallingford’s most famous resident, Agatha Christie.
Tucked away on a quiet street in the heart of town, the house offers both central convenience and peaceful retreat — just moments from the High Street, independent shops, welcoming pubs, and the Thames Path.
